Setting up SIPTV for Samsung/LG Smart TV, Firestick & Android TV

Step-by-step 2026 guide for installing and configuring Smart IPTV (SIPTV) on Samsung and LG Smart TVs, Amazon Firestick, and Android TV — including MAC address registration, M3U playlist upload, activation, and troubleshooting.

Setting up SIPTV for Samsung/LG Smart TV, Firestick & Android TV

You've got the subscription. You've got the TV. And now you're staring at a blank screen wondering why nothing's working.

Here's the thing — setting up SIPTV isn't hard. But it is easy to mess up if you skip a step or misread one detail. The original guides floating around are outdated, often referencing old URLs and missing critical 2026 gotchas like the Samsung App Store removal and the "Keep Online" checkbox that ruins everything when ignored.

This guide covers setting up SIPTV for both Samsung/LG Smart TVs, and also Amazon Firestick/Box/Android TV — completely updated for 2026. One article. Every device. Let's go.

What Exactly Is SIPTV — And Why Should You Care?

Smart IPTV (SIPTV) isn't a streaming service. It doesn't come with channels. Think of it as the stage — your IPTV subscription is the performance.

You bring your M3U playlist URL or Xtream Codes login. SIPTV displays everything in a clean, organised interface directly on your TV. No box required for Samsung and LG. No fiddling with HDMI adapters. Just your telly, your subscription, and ten minutes.

Why does it still dominate in 2026? Simplicity. Reliability. And a one-time cost that costs less than a Döner in München.

Before You Touch Anything — What You Actually Need

Don't skip this. Seriously.

  • An active IPTV subscription — your provider delivers either an M3U URL or Xtream Codes credentials (server URL + username + password) via email after purchase
  • Your M3U URL or Xtream Codes login — check your welcome email, including spam
  • A phone, tablet, or computer — you'll upload your playlist through a browser, not the TV itself
  • A stable internet connection — wired Ethernet for 4K, or at minimum a strong 5GHz Wi-Fi signal
  • The SIPTV app installed on your device (details per device below)

One more thing: SIPTV costs €5.49 one time, per device, after a 7-day free trial. That fee goes to the app developer — it's entirely separate from your IPTV subscription. There are zero recurring charges for the app itself.

Installing SIPTV — Which Device Do You Have?

Samsung Smart TV (Tizen OS)

Fair warning: SIPTV was pulled from the Samsung App Store in some regions. Check your store first.

  1. Press Smart Hub or Home on your remote
  2. Navigate to Apps, then open the Samsung App Store
  3. Search for "Smart IPTV" — if it appears, install it
  4. If it's not there: visit siptv.app on a computer and download the Tizen Widget file, extract it to the root of a FAT32-formatted USB drive, and insert it into your TV's USB port. The app appears in My Apps automatically.

Alternatively, Samsung TVs from 2022 onwards running Tizen OS 6.5+ support APK sideloading via USB through Developer Mode (Settings → General → Developer Options). If the store option fails, this is your fallback.

LG Smart TV (webOS)

LG is friendlier here. Every LG Smart TV from 2016 onwards running webOS 3.0+ is fully compatible.

  1. Press Home and open the LG Content Store
  2. Search for "Smart IPTV" in the Entertainment category
  3. If it's not available in your country, temporarily change your LG region in Smart TV Settings — download the app, then switch back

Older LG NetCast models won't work natively. Plug in a Firestick or Android box instead.

Amazon Firestick / Fire TV Cube / Fire TV Box

SIPTV is not on the Amazon App Store. You'll sideload it.

  1. On your Firestick home screen, go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options
  2. Enable Apps from Unknown Sources
  3. Search for and install the Downloader app from the Amazon store
  4. Open Downloader, enter this URL: http://siptv.eu/howto/firestick/
  5. Download and install the APK
  6. Launch Smart IPTV — you'll see your device's MAC address on the welcome screen

Note it down. You'll need it in the next section.

Android TV / Google TV Box

This is the easiest device of the bunch.

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android TV device
  2. Search for Smart IPTV and install it
  3. Launch the app — your MAC address displays on the welcome screen

Android TV boxes like NVIDIA Shield Pro or MECOOL all work with this method.

The Step That Most People Mess Up — MAC Address & Playlist Upload

This is the core of the whole setup. Get this right and everything else flows.

Your MAC address is a unique device identifier — it looks like AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF. The SIPTV app displays it on screen when you first launch it. Write it down, photograph it, tattoo it on your forearm — just don't lose it. The entire activation and playlist system is tied to that address.

Here's the step-by-step:

  1. Open SIPTV on your TV and note the MAC address shown on the welcome screen
  2. On your phone or computer, open a browser and go to siptv.app/mylist
  3. Enter your MAC address in the MAC field — it must be in ALL CAPS, exactly as displayed
  4. Paste your M3U URL into the playlist URL field (the link your IPTV provider sent you)
  5. Tick "Keep Online" — do not skip this; without it, your playlist expires every 4 days and you're back to square one
  6. If your provider also supplies an EPG URL for the TV guide, paste it into the EPG field
  7. Complete the CAPTCHA and click Send
  8. You should see a confirmation message on the web page
  9. Close the SIPTV app on your TV, wait 10–15 seconds, then reopen it
  10. All channels load automatically — grab your remote and start watching

One important detail on the M3U URL format: if your provider uses Xtream Codes credentials, your M3U link will look something like this:

http://yourserver.com:8080/get.php?username=YOURUSER&password=YOURPASS&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

This URL comes from your IPTV provider's welcome email. Use exactly what they send — don't modify it.

Activating SIPTV Before Your Trial Runs Out

You get 7 days free. After that, channels stop loading unless you activate.

Activate at siptv.app/activation — enter your MAC address, choose PayPal or Credit/Debit card, and pay the one-time €5.49 fee. Done. Permanent. That specific TV or device is activated for life.

Critical: activate before the 7-day trial expires. If you miss the window, your uploaded playlist is wiped and you'll need to re-enter everything from Step 1 of the playlist section. If you change TVs later, the new device needs its own separate €5.49 activation — the licence is bound to the MAC address, not your account.

And no, the activation payment does NOT include channels. Not a single one. SIPTV is purely a player — channels come from your separate IPTV subscription with a provider like my siptv.

Why Your Channels Might Not Appear (And How to Fix It)

Even with a perfect setup, things occasionally go sideways. Here are the real culprits:

No channels after reopening the app?

  • Go to siptv.app/mylist, scroll to the "Reset Playlist" section, enter your MAC address, complete the CAPTCHA, and click Reset. Then redo the playlist upload from Step 3 above.

MAC address mismatch?

  • The MAC shown in the app must match exactly what you entered online — same capitalisation, same colons. Even one wrong character breaks the link.

Forgot to tick "Keep Online"?

  • This is the #1 silent killer of SIPTV setups. Without that checkbox ticked, playlists vanish after 4 days. Go back to siptv.app/mylist, re-enter your details, and this time enable Keep Online before hitting Send.

M3U URL not working?

  • Test it. Open the URL in a browser on your phone or PC. If it prompts a file download, it's valid. If it throws an error, your IPTV subscription may be expired or the server is down — contact your provider.

Buffering and freezing?

  • For HD streaming you need at least 10 Mbps. For 4K, aim for 25 Mbps or higher. Switch to wired Ethernet if possible — Wi-Fi is the most common hidden cause of buffering. Some German ISPs also throttle IPTV traffic during evening peak hours; a VPN typically resolves this.

EPG (TV guide) not loading?

  • EPG data takes 2–5 minutes to sync on first load. If it's still empty after that, check whether your provider supplies a separate EPG URL and add it to the EPG field at siptv.app/mylist. EPG data refreshes automatically each time you open the app.

Black screen or no audio?

  • Some streams use codecs that conflict with your TV's hardware decoder. Try switching the video player mode inside SIPTV settings — most devices offer Hardware, Software, and HLS options.

SIPTV on Samsung vs. LG vs. Firestick — Which Is the Smoothest Ride?

Honest answer: it depends on your device.

Samsung (Tizen) delivers native performance when SIPTV is available in your regional App Store — channel-zap times average 2–4 seconds in real-world testing. The main friction is availability; some German users need to sideload via USB.

LG (webOS 3.0+) is arguably the easiest. The app is consistently available in the LG Content Store, and webOS handles M3U streams smoothly. Every LG Smart TV from 2016 onwards is compatible out of the box.

Firestick requires sideloading, which adds a step. But once it's running, performance is solid — especially on the Firestick 4K Max. The device also opens up apps like TiviMate if you ever want to explore alternatives with a richer interface.

No setup is drastically superior. All three work. Pick based on what you already own.

Quick SIPTV Feature Recap (2026)

  • M3U playlist support — the universal IPTV format, works with virtually every provider
  • Xtream Codes support — enter server URL, username, and password directly
  • EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) — full TV guide with current and upcoming shows
  • Timeshift — pause, rewind, and fast-forward live streams
  • Multiple playlists — combine content from different providers in one place
  • MAC-based activation — one payment, permanent licence per device
  • Compatible devices — Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, MAG boxes
  • Price — €5.49 one time, 7-day free trial included
